16FT struggles with new rig finishing in 6th place

In a light shifty breeze the 16FT used their new rig for the first time last weekend. They had a terrible start and thought they were over so went back, only later to find out they weren’t. The crew managed to round the first mark in 9th then fought hard down the first run only to sit in a big hole and not move for about 5 minutes and watch everybody drift by. They rounded the bottom mark in last, with nothing to lose, they put their heads down and did everything possible to pull everyone back. With three more laps they slowly picked the fleet off finally finishing in 6th place.
The 16FT crew have the first heats of the State titles this coming weekend and are going in with a positive attitude.
