12ft skiff racing has started in earnest at Lane Cove Sailing Club with “Lincoln Crowne” sailed by Jonathan Temple and Richard Jones, taking out the honours for the first race of the season. It was a close fought contest with “Gemmel Sails” and “Vantage Real Estate” filling the minor places.
In an exciting announcement, Lincoln Crowne and Company have confirmed their increasing involvement with the NSW 12ft Skiff Association to promote awareness of Alopecia Areata, (a serious medical condition where sufferers traumatically and without explanation, lose their scalp and body hair) by, in association with Variety (the leading Australian Children’s Charity) are sponsoring “LCC/Variety” sailed by Adam Forbes and Richard Johns.
The new boat is to be launched at the “Vantage Real Estate Upper Harbour Championship” which is due to be sailed at Lane Cove on 6th October. Lane Cove Rotary Club will be running a BBQ, proceeds will go towards Variety’s work, funding research into the currently incurable disease. Everyone will be welcome to join the sailors at the Lane Cove 12ft skiff sailing club during the afternoon to watch the start of the 12’s at 2.45pm and for the exciting finish sometime after 4pm. The members and visitors are always encouraged to socialise till the presentation at around 6pm.
So come down, enjoy a spectacular afternoon, have a sausage and watch some fantastic sailing!
